Thank you so much. Your experience was very helpful.

I seem to cross over the roles of advocate, family member and healthcare proxy-in the past and in the present with family members and friends with their experiences with the medical field. This session has opened my eyes to try to be more objective.

"I'm really glad I went to the advocacy training class. I thought it was great and I learned a lot. My plan is to go again if there is room available.

I like the idea that when I meet someone now, and I tell my story, and they share theirs with me, I have useful information to offer them that can help to change the system. I need this to have a way to take what happened to Katherine to the next level.

I can at least feel like I'm doing something and help other people to not let it happen to them. My dentist and his wife are expecting again. He told me that the first time his wife lost the baby early on. He described their experience. He's a doctor and he ended up yelling and cursing for them to care for his wife and medicate her properly. I couldn't believe it. He was still very upset and angry as he spoke to me about their ordeal, but they were still going to the same OBGYN group. I told him my story and he is considering other options, second opinions, high-risk doctors, and other facilities as well. It was just like you said at the meeting. It can happen to anyone and does. Hope to hear from you soon."
